Editorial Statement

The papers included in this volume underwent a peer-review process conducted within the framework of the conference prior to acceptance. In preparing the proceedings for publication, the editorial board revisited each submission with attention to linguistic clarity, structural coherence, adherence to publication standards, and verification of references.
The board did not undertake the revision or redefinition of the methodological or epistemic foundations of the papers. Accordingly, while editorial interventions ensured consistency and readability, they do not imply agreement with or endorsement of the conceptual frameworks, theoretical premises, or scholarly positions advanced by the authors. Each contribution reflects the intellectual and methodological commitments of its respective author.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Gülçin Küçükkaya’nın uzun yıllara dayanan akademik araştırma ve saha deneyimlerinin ürünü olan Yapı Taşlarının Restorasyonu, taş eserlerin bozulma nedenleri, tahribat türleri ve çağdaş restorasyon teknikleri üzerine kapsamlı bir başvuru kaynağıdır.

1981’de başlayan ve ulusal–uluslararası araştırmalarla gelişen bu çalışma, Türkiye’de taş koruma ve onarım alanında öncü bir referans niteliğindedir.

İçerik Özeti
Birinci Bölüm: Kayaçların sınıflandırılması ve işletilmesi – magmatik, tortul ve metamorfik taşların jeolojik ve petrografik özellikleri.
İkinci Bölüm: Taşların tahrip nedenleri – bünyesel, dışsal, fiziksel, kimyasal ve biyolojik etkiler.
Üçüncü Bölüm: Bozulma biçimleri ve restorasyon yöntemleri – taş temizliği, sağlamlaştırma, dolgu ve yama teknikleri.

Alvar Aalto

Alvar Aalto is accepted as one of the most influential modernist Scandinavian architects, even covering the other Scandinavian architects preceding him. Sigfried Gideon, architecture historian, establishes the link between Aalto and Finland, his country of origin, by stating that ‘‘Finland is with Aalto wherever he goes’’ in this book’s second edition on modern architecture titled Space,

Time and Architecture :

The growth of a new tradition (1949). That’s a reason why our book on Modern Finnish Architecture is mainly structured on Alvar Aalto. On the other hand, you cannot find a catalogue of his buildings but essays fron native Finnish researchers with different Aalto perspectives. While the first essay tries to establish the link between architect and client, the second one is questioning the historical links of Aalto architecture. On the third essay, the role of Aalto’s first wife Aino Aalto on his design capabilities is covered. And lastly the architecture of modern church design is tried to figure out.
